Step 1 - Estradiol and Progesterone Unit Conversion
Calculating the ratio of progesterone and estrogen is difficult because the hormone concentrations are often presented in different units. Progesterone is usually expressed in ng/mL or in nmol/L (nanomole/liter). Estradiol is represented in pg/mL or in pmol/L. It is necessary to use the same units to be able to contrast the two.
